Nature Day at Little Orange Creek Nature Park

Come on out to Little Orange Creek Nature Park, Saturday, April 15, 10am-3pm, to celebrate nature and conservation.

The Nature Day event is a collaboration between Alachua Conservation Trust, Friends of Little Orange Creek, and the City of Hawthorne.

There will be live music, good food, native plants, guided hikes, nature based activities for the kids, and did we say pizza, well, there you go!

The event is free of charge. Check out the pizza by the Rolling Dough Food Truck, native plants by Natural Treasures, handmade soaps, stained glass by Lovelight Glass, desserts by Hibiscus Pastries, coffee by Opus, and much more.

There will be sessions in creek dipnetting, insect sweepnetting, and guided hikes throughout the day. You can see arts and crafts vendors as well as representatives from community organizations who can provide information and perhaps give inspiration for volunteering.

If you’re interested in helping us out for the day with set up, sign in, and/or clean up, we’d be happy for that. If you’re interested in making a donation to Little Orange Creek Nature Park toward our Creekside Environmental Ed for Kids (CrEEK) Program, let us know, and if you are interested in applying to join the board of Friends of Little Orange Creek, let us know at the FLOC /sign in table.

Hope to see you!
